It Seems Like Yesterday
Greetings to all! Yes, being at Lost Valley seems like it was yesterday. As an aging LVR wrangler from 1969 to 1971 under the leadership of Charlie Saul, head wrangler and trusted friend, I learned so much being there. Not only how to ride, rope and clean stalls, but life lessons that are still with me.
Periodically, I wonder where everyone is. Jimmy Carlson, J.W. Debbie Shock and the rest of the staff. Those were memorable summers that have stayed with me all these years. If any of you are out there, it would be wonderful to hear from you!
And, of course, my most memorable experiences and lessons came from Bob Foster, Sr. and Marion. I will never forget them. Big Bob was more of a father to me than my real dad and Marion always had loving words that have guided me through the years.
Just as an update, my wife (Angelica) and I live in Basalt, Colorado. That's a little town about 12 miles downstream from Aspen, Colorado. We thoroughly love the mountains, but the snow is getting tiresome and we look forward to moving to a warmer climate on the beach.
We hope to come back in the near future as I would like to share the ranch with my wife who has never seen a working guest ranch. Originally from Colombia, now an American citizen, she loves the west and looks forward to sharing with me those years at Lost Valley Ranch.
Bobby, you've got some gray hair upstairs. Well, so do I, but not too much.
