Heidi, Hi! I can't believe we've been back home for 2 weeks now and miss you all a lot. We came back to a freaky heatwave with temperatures in the 80's and now it's back to normal. I took this photo on Friday 23rd September from…

Cold Cold Cold!

Hello from freezing Colorado!  Normally, I would expect some sympathy from you but I think that most of you are experiencing worse weather than we are! The -10 degree weather has forced everyone here inside to do the jobs that we’ve been putting off for a rainy, or in this case, cold day.  At this moment the maintenance men are up on ladders cleaning the tops of the dining room fans, and the wranglers are cleaning the tack room.  Jacob, our new maintenance guy just told me that when they tried…See More

Happy (Late) Halloween!

Can you believe it’s already the end of October? I sure can’t, especially since we’ve been blessed with a beautiful Indian summer here in Colorado. The highs haven’t dropped below 60 yet! Although I’m missing the rich reds and oranges of an East Coast fall, nothing can beat the golden aspens shimmering against the deep green pines. What a beautiful season! I know at Lost Valley, one thing we love about fall is celebrating Halloween with our guests. The annual Halloween party is always a time of…See More

Hi, Heidi. This week sounds fabulous! Is Ride, Ride, Ride offered every fall? Also, is it possible to order from the store from online or by phone? I hope you are well. Know that you all are regularly in my prayers.

Summer is here!

Since I wrote last, our last two foals were born. Tari had our second colt about two weeks ago. He’s a sorrel and so sweet! One of our guestsspotted our last foal in the meadows while on the pre-breakfast ride about aweek later. She’s our only filly for theyear and is a cute sorrel with four stockings and a beautiful blaze. Also in animal news…we have our cows and they are all out at pasture. This year, Tony decided to try something we haven’t done in a while. Instead of trailering the cows to…See More

A Foal!

Have you ever heard the theory that every time there's a weather change or a full moon, the maternity wings in most hospitals mysteriously fill up? Well, the theory became fact for us on Sunday night when, after a huge front blew in, our first foal of the season decided to show hisface. Our little colt is healthy, and at this moment frolickingplayfully in the round pen under the watchful eye of his proud mama, Brown Mare(creative, I know…). Sometimes, I get the impression that she’s rolling her…See More

Heidi, Hi!

I can't believe we've been back home for 2 weeks now and miss you all a lot. We came back to a freaky heatwave with temperatures in the 80's and now it's back to normal. I took this photo on Friday 23rd September from the dining room so it was too late to go on to the CD. The sky looks like it is on fire! We've  come back with so many wonderful memories, especially the lunch run. They will just have to keep us going until next year.

Sorry I didn’t get to see you before I left last week. The wedding was such fun!” I hope the volcano will not stop us flying to Romania when I will tell you all about it. Once again I uploaded some photos to the social website and they are under MY Photos but not coming up under general photos. Can you look into this for me please? (it might just be a question of time I put them on about 24 hrs ago)Also I STILL cannot find out how to invite friends – the instructions make no sense to me!!

Hi Heidi,
This sounds great. Always intersted in what goes on at the Ranch. Would love to live there myself. Let me know if they ever need an Event Planner on Staff! I am looking forward to my trip back in the fall for Cattle Week. I will check back to the site regularly!
