I’m sorry that I’ve recently become an unfaithful blogger. I blame the pile of store inventory boxes presently burying me. Every time I put something away, more show up on my doorstep! No matter how many dirty looks I throw at the maintenance men…they keep bringing me more! Finally I just decided boxes or no, the time has come to update everyone. So, here I sit in the midst of my cardboard jungle writing to you.
I cannot believe how fast this spring season has flown
by! It hasn’t snowed for 2 weeks now, so cross your fingers, but I think that warm Spring has officially arrived. Flowers are starting to bravely pop their heads out of the ground and it actually rained last night!
Lots of fun things are happening around the Ranch. Two weekends ago, a group of us trekked 10 hours to New Mexico to watch Alison Hammill marry her cowboy, Tim Ballard. Some of you may remember Tye, Becca and Haley Chesser who have worked out here. Tim is Tye’s best friend, which is how Alison met him originally. We had so much fun celebrating with Alison and Tim at their beautiful wedding. We also enjoyed getting a taste of true ranch life at Burnt Well Guest Ranch, Haley and Tye’s parents’ ranch. If you ever get a chance, take a ride through the desert, it’s incredible! I felt like John Wayne tearing across the Chesser’s ranch.
Our much appreciated break ended and we came home to Lost Valley to finish the final
preparations for Shareholder’s weekend. We LOVE having our shareholders here! Lost Valley is blessed with owners who really understand our mission and who encourage us every time they come. I thoroughly enjoyed spending an afternoon shopping with the ladies in the store and showing off all the new merchandise that’s been coming in. Everyone left (too soon!) and we are now enjoying a lull for this week until a group of Cornell alumni come in for the weekend.
Well, there you have it, a lightening tour of April at Lost Valley. Hopefully you all enjoy reading the blog and
hearing what we’re doing out here. Let me know if you have any questions or if you want to read about anything in particular.
Oh, and one more thing. For those of you anxiously waiting…we still don’t have any
foals, but are anxiously anticipating their appearance. Also, for those of you on Facebook, be looking for our official page that is coming soon. I’ll make sure to post about that so you can all become fans!
Talk to you soon(er)!
Heidi
