The Lost Valley Ranch Community

Our Brand of Western Hospitality

this is the season turn, turn, turn.” And I’m not just talking about glorious show of Aspen leaves all around us. The changing leaves bring changing scenery in
many other key areas of the Ranch.

Our summer this year was amazing with many more guests crossing the cattle guard than in 2009. We enjoyed seeing many new faces amid the lovely old friends who continue to join us summer after summer. Thanks to every family who chose Lost Valley for
a family getaway! We enjoyed meeting
each one of you and hope to see you all again very soon.

Labor Day weekend rolled around, and as usual, was jam packed with activity and kidsa great farewell OOOO-AAAAH to the summer.
Our first big change of the season always comes when the kids head back
to school. Summer guests know the life
and joy that kids bring to the Ranch.
Our dining room may be a lot noisier in the summer, but no one can deny
the special joy that comes from watching a kid climb into the saddle for his or
her first horseback ride. We miss you
kids!

Some other changes occurred on the staff side. For the first time in many years, we have two girls in the corral! Some you may remember seeing Kellie Sharpe in the kid corral this summer. She came to us after graduating from USC (Go
Gamecocks!) and was a huge asset to the kid program. She is joined by Chelsea
Reeher from Oregon who may have cleaned your cabin sometime in the spring or
summer. She did an amazing job as second in command on Cabins and was excited
to turn in her cleaning rags for some reins.
We are so thankful for these two girls and the incredible job they are
doing as Wranglers. Another change happened in the kitchen where we have an all
female kitchen crewsomething
that hasn’t happened since Marion Foster ran the kitchen. The kitchen girls are having a great time
serving our guests some good, old-fashioned, home cooking.

While the Fall has seen many changes, the Lost Valley brand of hospitality remains the same. So, if you’re anxious for a chance to get away from the home grind, check out some of our weekend specials or come spend
Thanksgiving with us. We can’t wait to
see you across the cattle guard again soon!
