Happy (Late) Halloween!

Can you believe it’s already the end of October? I sure can’t, especially since we’ve been blessed with a beautiful Indian summer here in Colorado. The highs haven’t dropped below 60 yet! Although I’m missing the rich reds and oranges of an East Coast fall, nothing can beat the golden aspens shimmering against the deep green pines. What a beautiful season! I know at Lost Valley, one thing we love about fall is celebrating Halloween with our guests. The annual Halloween party is always a time of food and fun…and creativity! This year, we decided to follow last year’s “Above the Clouds” theme with “Game Day.” We all know that fall and football are inseparable, so we thought a sports theme would be a sure success. And it was! Everyone from Don King to Mike Gundy made an appearance accompanied by chickens, cheerleaders , and my personal favorite, Bob dressed as a beer keg. We even had a whole cheerleading squad…looking suspiciously like the guy wranglers in wigs…come escorting two rather girly football heroes. Yes, I do have pictures to prove it, provided by our sundry sports photographers.

The night started with tailgating appetizers—wings, nachos, and fries—and games everywhere. We even had a Wii tournament extravaganza! At 6:30, we sat down to a feast of game day food—Bleu cheese buffalo burgers, sausage and pepper kebabs , and of course, pizza. During our “seventh inning stretch” each table wrote a cheer and participated in a cheering competition. All in all the night was a screaming success and we’re already thinking about next year. Mark down a Lost Valley vacation for Halloween next year; we would love to celebrate with you.
