Our Brand of Western Hospitality

Monday – nice and sunny and warm. Went to Wild Cat in the morning , bushwacking over to Hound Dog but found that Cisco is not very keen on bushwacking! Anyway it was still a bit snowy underfoot, but we let Smokey be a snow plough for us. In the afternoon we went to Olympic Park – Lizzie was not happy about the creek crossings at first. Nick and Kevin went to fetch 10 more horses from winter pasture.

In the evening we were treated to Jason giving us an impromptu concert of his music – which was beautiful.

Tuesday – another sunny day but with rain and/or snow promised for the evening. We went to Mule Deer in the morning and Cisco jumped the logs beautifully. We had a good discussion about seeing Abraham Lincoln OR a walrus in sheep’s rock – no one seemed to be able to see both. In the afternoon dark clouds were over the north but we kept dry. We went along low ridge to the jeep road and Tommy rock meeting the South Platte trail and working our way over the fallen trees – quite difficult. Cisco is a bit happier with bushwacking today. We say two lovely blue birds and Rainy found a deer leg, so she was happy. Just as I came down to dinner snow started and the square dance is sadly cancelled.
