Our Brand of Western Hospitality

Monday was fairly uneventful and sunny. Tuesday was really different. This was the day the vets and vet technicians came to see to any lame horses and to rasp (float) the teeth. This involved about 9 people. Before they came the horses had their wormers too. This meant that all the horses came in, so the place was full of horses and (of course) poop! They had to be sedated for the dentistry and then a gag was put in their mouths and a special sling to hold the head up. There were a lot of sorry looking horses at the end of this but they soon recovered from the sedation.

Luckily one of my favourites, Ironman, was seen by the vet so I was a bit nervous but it’s not too serious. After lunch the weather began to change and a cold haze came over the valley. Saw a muskrat in the creek. We had a good teamwork to clear the corral and then an extra Square Dance to look forward to.

Judith, we've sure enjoyed the pictures/commentary since we had to leave. Know you must be dreading the end of the week. Take care and many blessings, Char
