Narnia and Beyond

For the first time ever I am in a new cabin Pecos Bill. Well, new to me! And there really IS a door at the back of the wardrobe but it doesn’t lead to Narnia – just the boiler (furnace) which means I have the means to turn it off in the night. You may think this seems a particularly English obsession as there is another English lady here who has the same problem with the noisy boiler.

Anyway after the long journey over here and a good trip in from the airport with Jeff I arrived about 11.30. The deer were all around the ranch when we arrived. This morning I was up to brush horses at 6am. A good breakfast and then a ride in the snow to Government Bridge. We saw a few deer . At lunch we were treated to hot soup which was very welcome. In the afternoon the sky lightened somewhat and the views were beautiful as the clouds lifted and some blue sky appeared. We rode to Mule Deer with a quite small group.

There are a few changes here – Caroline Guth and Josh Singer are back – can’t keep away but the good old things stay the same. It’s good to be back and looking forward to the square dance tonight.
