Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Arrived here with no transport problems except a near riot in the car park at the airport in Manchester . They had somewhat overbooked and cars had been parked so that the buses couldn’t collect people and a lady was virtually screaming at everyone. So I was very grateful to get to the airport on time. However by the time I reached Denver the snow had come in, causing all sort of problem. And Mr T Warnock and Brooke and Jack were there to take me safely home. We saw plenty of cars in ditches, even one of the snow ploughs! On Saturday woke up to freezing cold weather – too cold to cycle. Went for a slowish ride to Shane’s burn-off managing a small lope. In the afternoon rode up the jeep road – managed to lope quite a bit and to Turtle rock. Luckily the snow did not stop Spike and Cindy coming and it was a smallish square dance so no one got left out.
Sunday was sunny and warmer with the snow beginning to melt although little Jade found a deep spot near the high meadows and floundered a bit. We went to Olympic park so the Serenity and Jenna could jump the logs. They were riding Nina and Smokey and had lots of fun. I’ve been riding Cisco and having a good time on her. In the afternoon Jason and I rode to Tommy rock and listened to the ‘Sound of silence”. We found a clutch of coloured balloons just off the jeep road and took them away so they didn’t hurt the wildlife.
