Sunday – Glorious day

I found out to my great pleasure that with the orientation of the bedroom in Pecos Bill I can see the mountains from my bed. So I read and looked at them this morning before I got up.  Had a quick breakfast then rode my favourite ride to Salt Lick Seven. I don’t think I’ve mentioned I’m riding Iron Man as usual! Josh Davies who was helping for the weekend,  took us and we jumped a log on the way up so I was pleased with Iron Man. I was also delighted to hear via the radio that Alison Ballard (Hamill) just (literally) had  baby boy. After lunch the large crowd that had been here for the weekend left so we are back to peace!  I got my bike seat fixed (too high – short legs!)  so I can have some good exercise tomorrow!! In the afternoon Chelsea and I rode with three sisters of a staff member to explore a ride she had been told about by an ex-wrangler that had been here for the week-end. This entailed dropping (nearly literally!) off the side of Tommy rock and then somehow ending up near Hound Dog. We managed the first bit with lots of sliding as the earth was deep and clambering over logs. We did see a lizard and Chelsea  saw a snake and the views over to Heathclife were great. Peppy twisted a shoe so we got back quick late but we really felt like pioneers. Today Jeff and Laurie arrive for Horsemanship Week so old friends will soon be here and we will be all looking forward to a great week as usual.
