Wednesday

At the last minute we were told we could go on an all day ride so we went to the Flying G Ranch in the North. As before the tracks were rather covered with logs but it was nice to see a different part of the ranch. We had lunch by a creek in the shade as it got up to the 70s in the afternoon. We looked round the old buildings after lunch as and looked for cows wherever we went. On the way back we found some different trails and ended up at the top of Mule Deer. We then went home via Goose Creek and splashed through the water.

We just caught sight of a Horned Owl and could hear the chipmunk calling its warning so we followed the owl till it sat in a tree wonderfully camouflaged and it just stared haughtily down at us blinking and winking until we went away. A great experience.
